Apple doesn't provide repair support for the iPhone 6 any more.

You might try to find an independent repair shop for that. The case is clearly permanently bent, but maybe an independent shop has experience with that. Apple Stores would only consider that to be a eligible for a complete replacement when they still serviced the iPhone 6. But if you're in the market for a new phone, the iPhone SE 2nd generation is a really good value.

If it still works now, I'd suggest backing it up - preferably to a Mac or PC. Just in case.

Not meaning to be argumentative, but the OP said that it opened/bent as a result of a drop and I take it at face value because I don't see the battery pushing it out, which is center left. When the battery swells, it tends to puff up mostly in the center of the battery and tends to push out the screen assembly on the middle left where the battery is located. It should be an easy enough matter to just shine a light in there and see if the battery is puffing up or not.

But it's up to the OP to determine if it's worth fixing. At this point it's unlikely that Apple is going to deal with it.

I’d just like to amend my previous response. There are some cases where Apple may service an iPhone 6, where they’re obligated to provide repair support for at least 7 years. It would be in countries or states where they’re required to by law, such as California.

You need to immediately STOP using the phone, power it off and accept it's a gonner. The battery has swelled and the phone is unrepairable. You Apple Store will recycle it responsibly for you and it's now time to invest in a newer, more modern iPhone.

That's not a swollen battery. The OP already noted that it was dropped and then popped open. I don't know if it's worth fixing, but I don't see the battery pushing out the screen assembly.

Another OP received an iPhone8 to replace a broken iPhone6. And iPhone6 has no trade-in value, according to an iPhone "select trade-in device" list.

I would recycle it in case the battery does take the fall badly and buy an iPhoneSE (dual SIM!). But that is just me.

Sorry about that. It's a really old device and support by Apple is minimal. But it probably still works as a phone and there might be someone who might want it. Not sure where you're located, but there are places that accept even damaged electronics for donations (like Goodwill in my area which among other things trains people to repair electronics). If it's otherwise working, someone might be willing to fix it and give it to someone who needs a basic or emergency phone. The case is obviously never going to be perfect again, but if everything else is intact it should still work as a phone.
