Speakerphone mode turns off randomly during a call

Every once in a while I start a call on speakerphone and without touching the phone the mode switches off speaker. I tap it to go back to speaker and it turns off again by itself. This happens multiple times before it settles down. How can I prevent this from happening?

Hey Dragonlaird Gaming,

We understand that speaker mode will automatically turn off sometimes when on a phone call when using your iPhone 6s Plus. You can start by seeing if restarting your iPhone may help: Restart your iPhone It can seem like a simple step, but it can sometimes help resolve issues.

If the issue continues, you'll want to make sure your iPhone is fully updated: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch If there is an available update, you'll want to make sure that you back up your iPhone first: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Let us know if those steps help or if you've already tried those steps.

Best wishes.

Hi Claire,

Thanks for the response. When this occurs I am in the middle of a call. It isn't exactly convenient for me to reboot the phone. I will make sure that the phone is up to date and that it gets rebooted more frequently and hopefully this bug will appear less often. If it continues to be a problem, I'll follow up here to see if you have any other suggestions.

Thank you,

Jim
