Updating from macOS Sierra (Version 10.12.6)

I am having difficulty updating my OS from macOS Sierra (Version 10.12.6). I have gone to the App Store to download High Sierra, and I get the message:

This copy of the Install macOS High Sierra application is damaged, and can't be used to install macOS.

Any recommendations? Thank You.

Choose Applications from the Finder's Go menu, throw the existing installer away, and try downloading it again.
