Lost iPhoto library

I recently updated to Monterey 12.1 only to find my iPhoto library empty. If I attempt to send a photo as an email attachment, my photo library appears undisturbed.


Any idea how to restore my iPhoto library?

This would be your Photos Library, not iPhoto, which doesn't run on OS 12.


Check and see if you have more than one Library: Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch Photos. It will list the Libraries that it sees. Can you see another one?


Did you make a back up before updating?
