Screen time app limits dropped

I use Screen Time to set up app limits for my child. I set a time limit for the whole categories of Games and Utilities and seven of the apps in the category of Entertainment. “App Limit” will hold the identified categories and apps for a day or two and then it drops the category Utilities and the seven apps from Entertainment, applying the app time limit only to the category of Games. Does anyone know why my iPhone is dropping the time limit on Utilities and the other seven apps?

Hello Screen_time_app_limits_dropped,

Apple Support Communities is a great place for help with Screen Time and parental controls. It sounds as though you’re continuously being prompted to recreate app limits for certain applications and Utilities. Since having this issue have you verified that your iPhone is running the latest iOS, and have you tried removing and recreating the app limits? If not, those would be the next steps we recommend, of which can be found in the following articles.

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Use parental controls on your child’s iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Let us know how that goes!

We’re glad you had the chance to try those steps Screen_time_app_limits_dropped,

The next step would be to confirm that your child’s device is updated. If this is a Mac, you can find the steps for updating in the following article.

Update macOS on Mac

If their device is updated, the next step would be to contact Apple. You can find their contact details via the Get Support website.

Take care!
