The video of my and the green screen behind me is narrower than the frame, because I recorded with my iPhone vertically. When I key the green screen, the image fills the entire frame, messing up the effect (image below). How can I fix this? Thanks!
Besides what Tom said: even if you key it correctly, you need to trim or mask the image behind it, otherwise it will still fill the frame (hint: it did already fill the frame, without any keyer effect). The easiest may be to select Crop->Trim and drag the left and right edges in.

If it keyed the wrong key, drag the Strength slider all the way to the left to undo it;
Click the Sample button, and place the cursor on the frame; it will change to an eyedropper. Click and drag on a little area of the desired color.
You can also shift-click and drag to add to the keyed selection.
Could you post a screenshot of your timeline area with the two image.
I see. When you follow Luis’ instruction to set the strength to zero and use the Sample button to select the green you should see portions of the green disappearing not the whole green screen image.
In your last screenshot, your project is vertical but your new video is not.
You should decide which one you want.
FWIW, I took a screenshot of your last image, added to FCP and just by dragging the Keyer effect got a rather reasonable result; not perfect, but a good start. It did key out most of the green. It did help that this new take has much better lighting.
The entire frame turned black lol, including my face. I think I will let this project die and start a new one. Sorry for your time, and thank you so much for the help. Just so much trouble that is not worth it. I will start anew.

I re-recorded the video. Now, when I try to key it, the background image just fills the whole frame. Any advice? Will I be able to key it with the green area that shows (see pic below)? Thank you.
What is the background image?
It’s a difficult image to key because of the wrinkles in the fabric that produces different shades, but it might be possible.
