Slow computer

I am not seeing a lot here that is actionable to help my computer improve. I have run disk first aid from the restore partition. Please share any insights you might have!

Please determine if the same problems occur in "Safe Mode": How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support.

It is not terribly convenient to use a Mac in that mode for very long, and certain things simply won't work in "Safe Mode", but it should not be any faster or slower that it is otherwise.

I suspect its hard disk drive is operating in a state of failure, but it is premature to draw that conclusion. Try "Safe Mode" first, see how it works, then restart your Mac normally again.

Back up your Mac as a matter of course. To learn how to use Time Machine please read Back up your files with Time Machine on Mac. If that Mac's hard disk drive isn't working properly you risk losing everything on it.
