Water marks on laptop screen

I made a mistake and tried cleaning my laptop screen with wet wipes. Because of that i have these moisturised smudge marks on my screen. I tried cleaning that off with contact lens cleaner and microfiber cloth but i cant clean the smudge marks. How do i get rid of this?

Ouch. Hopefully those wet wipes did not contain a solvent that might have etched the glass, because that kind of damage is permanent and can't be fixed.

How to clean your Apple products - Apple Support cautions us not to use anything other than "a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth" or "a cleaner intended for use with a screen or display."

I suggest you very lightly dampen a soft cloth with water in an attempt to remove the smudge marks. Follow up with an equally soft dry cloth.
