Apple Pay billing address incorrect on receipts, though correct everywhere

When I make a purchase using Apple Pay it shows the correct shipping address but the wrong billing address (it is an old, no longer valid, billing address). I have checked everywhere suggested (iPhone & iPad: settings/Wallet & Apple Pay/Payment Card; Mac: app store/user image at bottom left/view information/billing address) but in all these places it shows the correct billing address. I've even tried replacing the credit card on file to no avail. All my credit cards have the correct billing address.

So where is it getting an old billing address for the receipts? It's not coming from the credit card. It's not showing up in any setting I can find. Please advise.

Address changes

on iPhone

Go to settings>Wallet & Apple Pay>transaction defaults>address - update as needed
Go to Wallet app>tap on any card>tap three dots in corner>tap address - edit as needed for all cards
Go to settings>Apple ID (your name at the top)>payment & shipping>address - edit as needed.

on Mac

open Music>select iTunes Store on the left menu>go to the bottom where it says account>sign in>address - change as needed.

on PC

open iTunes and the rest of the instructions should be the same as for Mac.

I was getting the same issue, my old address on emailed apple receipts. Check my iPhone and Apple.com account, but I didn't think to check iTunes.

Bingpot.

I'd say this is a coding issue with Apple Pay and billing, as normally a change in one place would propagate to the rest under the same account. I say normally because, uh, I work with things like that.

Clear your browser history and cache. I did read that you checked it in those places but in order to make sure we are on the same page I gave the instructions. Another thing you can do is call all the card issuers to ensure that they have the correct billing address attached to the card they issued.

Thank you for describing those steps so clearly. I’m sure that will be handy for someone else who hasn’t already done those steps. But as I mentioned in my post, I HAVE already done those steps. In every case, it already had the CORRECT billing address. And yet, when I use Apple Pay to make a purchase, the receipt from the vendor shows the WRONG (e.g. old) billing address.

Any other ideas?

And just to make sure the situation is clear:

I am on my Mac on a vendor's website and selecting "Apple Pay" as a payment method. This then requires verification on my iPhone by double-clicking the side button. It seems to go through properly, but then the receipt from the vendor shows the wrong/old billing address.

Despite @askbarnabus detailed instructions, in NONE of those places mentioned can I find the wrong BILLING address. In fact, in ALL of those places that show a billing address (vs. shipping address) it already shows the correct billing address.

I appreciate your thoroughness.

All credit card companies checked and information was already correct there.

Safari browser history and cache cleared.

Now I just need to test drive it by making another purchase. Will report results when available.
