I was hoping someone could help.
My setup is a Mackie Mixer hooked up to an Imac using Irig. Everything was fine in garageband until I tried to hook up a second monitor to the Imac using HDMI to USB-C. Now I get a loud buzzing noise. It stops when I unplug the line in from the mixer to the IRig. Anyone know why an external monitor would suddenly give me feedback? And does anyone have a workaround?

Based on what you've described as happening and what you've been able to isolate, the issue sounds like it is specific to the display or its cable and/or connection to the Mac. We would suggest trying the following steps to see if it continues:
