MacBook Air M1 Hinge clicking noise

Hey guys, I have a MacBook Air M1 that is about 2 months old now.

initially the hinge was so tight I want able to open it with one hand. I called up AppleCare and they said it will loosen up in three months, this was about a month and a half ago.

But later I noticed that the hinge made this clicking noise whenever I open or close the lid after long time of not using the laptop. It’s always around 20-50 degree angle and it’s pretty noticeable.

I mainly notice it when having the laptop on my lap or on an uneven surface.

i took it once to the Apple canter and they loosened the hinge a bit. This solved most of the other resistance but the click is still present.

the click is as strong as keeping your hand on top of the lid, then force clicking the trackpad.

interestingly this clicking disappears when I tap the region on the deck of the laptop above where the hinges are located

should I get the display replaced and risk potential wear, or is this normal and will disappear in a couple of months??

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities anirudh149,

We see that you're having an ongoing issue with your MacBook Air. We'd be happy to get you pointed in the right direction.

Since you're still having the same issue that you took your Mac in to have it serviced for previously. If that is the case, we suggest that you connect Apple Support to have this looked into further.
