#images in iMessage on safe mode?

I have always had this issue no matter which iPhone I have had over the years. When looking for any gif that isn’t PG it just says “No results (for whatever I search)” Tested the theory with friends and they can search almost anything and there is at least search results.

Is there some reason why my account specifically is restricted on search results?

I have turned the #images app off and restarted and changed nothing.

iPhone 12, iOS 15

Hello jhow27,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having some issues getting accurate results when searching for GIFs.

When you say PG, are you referring to rating or something else? If you're referring to PG rated, make sure you don't have any restrictions enabled from Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. Check out Set up Screen Time for yourself on iPhone.

If no restrictions are enabled, check to make sure Reduce Motion isn't enabled since that might impact GIF search results. Details can be found in Reduce screen motion on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Take care.

jhow27,

Another thing to check would be your country location as some content may be restricted in some locations. Have a look at Change your Apple ID country or region.

If that doesn't help, it may be best to contact Apple Support for a closer look since this still occurs and doesn't seem to be related to any restrictions. You can reach out from Get Support or using the direct phone number for your region from Contact Apple for support and service.

Best of luck.

Hey faith185,

I check both of those and there are no content restrictions on and reduce motion is not on.

Yes PG as in rating. Anything that could have multiple meanings or be construed as adult just shows as no search results. Tried the same searches on multiple other peoples phones and they have no problem accessing far more search results
