Defective Battery

I replaced my iPhone 8 battery two months back, but the battery suddenly bulged. I have six months warranty on the replaced battery, but when I contacted the customer care they said that warranty will not be applicable. Why can't they replace the battery as it is a defective battery?

Apple only provides a 3 month warranty on repairs except in India where local repair shop rules apply. If you are in India then you need to fight it out with the repair shop.

In my mind, natural justice would mean that they should repair the phone for free but I don't know all the law in all countries.

But one important thing - turn the phone off, do not charge it!
