How to stop Apple News subscription?

I am never going to subscribe to News. The constant unreadable stories that I am suckered into clicking on amount to an advertisement to pay Apple 9.99 more a month. I am not going to do that. I don’t want even more advertising on my phone. Can I get rid of “News” entirely? I managed to finally get the FOXNews stuff to stop bullying it’s way in, but the advice to the person who previously asked this question (Restrict Stories to Today) doesn’t seem to have done what I really want, which is to stop Apple from begging for or annoying me into paying yet another 9.99 a month. I just want it gone at this point.
