Problem with Control Strip on my MacBook Pro

the right side of the Control Strip on my MacBook Pro is dark (switched off), but commands are active if I try to push on that one. Any suggestion? Thank you

Try resetting the SMC http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964

and

Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

if no resolve it typically indicates a hardware issue.
