Unable to dowanload any apps

Hi,

So I have an iPhone 6 on ios 12.5.5 and for some reason whenever I go on to the AppStore to download an app when clicking get the spinning circle is shown however after a few seconds it goes back to displaying get. I have tried restarting, changing my language, hard resetting, signing in and out of my apple ID and changing to 3 different wifis however none of these seemed to resolve the issue.

Any help would be great since I'm trying to avoid factory resetting my iPhone.

I managed to fix the problem by changing my AppStore settings to always require the password even for free apps and then restarting.
