Error connecting to Apple ID server

Hi, I bought a new iPhone 12 mini and gave me husband old iPhone 8, only he is having trouble setting it up and it shows Error connecting to Apple ID server? Any ideas on how to fix? Thanks

Before you gave the iPhone to your husband, see this Apple article: What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Then remove from your account, see this Apple article: Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205064

Then your husband can sign in to the iPhone with his Apple ID.
