Carplay not connecting properly (brings up car’s mic)

I have a 2021 rav4 hybrid XLE premium with premium JBL sound system and almost every time I try to connect my iPhone using CarPlay I get a mic symbol on my dashboard. I read somewhere that it could be a setting regarding mic access on my phone, which I already disabled and did not solve the issue. Any thoughts?

I suspect this means that CarPlay can access the vehicle's mic. You would need that if you wish to use Siri, the phone, dictation, etc. Since I'm not a Toyota dealer, I couldn't be sure, but if you ask Toyota, they should be able to answer that for you.
