PKPass files not 'addable' to Apple Wallet

I've just got an id pass from my professional organisation, as a .pkpass file which purportedly can be added to Apple Wallet. It was sent to me as a Mail attachment.

When I click on it, it just offers me a mini-menu with save/share/copy etc

Any clues how I can resolve this?

You need to contact the pass issuer. They need to enable this feature for their pass.
