M1 MacBook Pro 2021 12.0.1 loses internet using Cisco Anyconnect 4.9.05042 resolves on reset
I have a 2021 mbp with 12.0.1 and cisco anyconnect 4.9.05042.
after 1-2 days of use the ability to browse to web pages suddenly stops. WiFi, ethernet and vpn show green but chrome and safari can’t find web pages. Sometime chrome works and safari doesn’t but usually both just say no internet. Restarting the entire Mac always fixes the problem but this is a major hassle. Since restarting Mac always fixes there is no issue with my WiFi network and the problem affects other coworkers on their home networks with their new M1 macs also.
The following do not help:
- disconnect wifi
- switch between WiFi and Ethernet via usb adaptor
- disconnect or reconnect Cisco anyconnect vpn. It’s happens with or without active VPN connect. No correlation to being connected or disconnected
- renew DHCP lease
- check date/time etc
- sleep wake
- nothing noteworthy in activity monitor
having to reboot my brand new high-end Mac every two days is disappointing. I would appreciate, if nothing else, a terminal command to restart the network stack without having to reboot the whole operating system.
