audio line-in input on Macbook Air

The Macbook Air is great. But the lacking audio line-in input is a bummer.

I thought I would be able to us a 3.5mm to USB-C to 'input' audio and record it, but, this seems to only offer me the option of using this USB-C an audio output.

Does anybody have suggestions for how to record audio from a line-in source, eg, not using the microphone? thx in advance!

Hello Scott Berens,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities, and we'll be happy to help in any way we can. We understand you're having issues with recording in-line audio on your Mac without using the built-in microphone. Are you using a particlular app? For instance, check out the options for recording audio if you're using an app like GarageBand, for example: Connect a microphone to use with GarageBand on Mac

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
