Converting music files on mac to MP3 format?

I have a bit of a tricky situation. I have bought legitimate cds some of which I uploaded on my mac some years ago when we sstill had CD readers. Since I am now subscribing to apple music, it appears that not all the music I originally had on my computer is available in my private library. Could be I am mistaken, but for one cd in particular, I am pretty sure I had uploaded on my mac. Now it seems I only have 3 tracks of that cd available in my library. And the track I want is no longer there which means I am redirected to apple music.

In any case, what I want, is to be able to convert some pieces to mp3 because I want to use a program (vocalremover found on the web) that allows me to remove the voice from the tracks so I can use the track as a karaoke to practice my singing. Someone told me to get the song from youtube and use ytmp3.cc software but I am weary of this after reading comments posted here. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cass,

The tracks you download from an Apple Music subscription are copy-protected and cannot be converted to MP3. If you have any copy of your old MP3s (on your disc drive or any backup that you have made) you can add them back into your current library. Other than that, you can buy new non-protected tracks from the iTunes Store, Amazon MP3, etc. for about $1.29 USD each.
