How do I change the display name when sending Apple Mail on an iPad/iPhone with iOS 15?

Every search I've done for changing the display name says go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts.

Passwords & Accounts doesn't exist!

I successfully changed my display name on my Macbook Apple email using the system preferences but there doesn't seem to be ANY description for changing/updating my display name on my iPad (still shows my former name when sending email). My iCloud account sends email with my updated name. I just can't send mail from my iPad or iPhone with my correct name.

Frustrating!

Try this: Go to Settings>Mail>Accounts>Choose the specific mail account to change its name>Choose Name, Phone Number,Email>At top change name.

To clarify, I discovered this problem when one of my apps sent an email and the display name was my old one.

I’ve since sent several test emails (trying different measures to fix) from my Apple mail app and every test still displays my old name. So it’s NOT the iPad app thats the issue.

Hi Splatt9, just to advise that you can also contact Apple Support as follows:

Online:--> Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple;
Contacting a local Apple Store or AASP among the list provided above but also again as follows Apple – Location Selector; or
Using the "Apple Support" app, available and downloadable from App Store.

Did that years ago when I first changed my name.

Apple Mail is the ONLY email still displaying my old last name. It’s only become an issue lately as one program I use sends it’s email from the native email account (it’s complicated) and NONE of my current colleagues know who I am with my old name.

If I send the email from my laptop (Macbook), the display name is correct.
