Monterey and Hovercam are not friends!

Since upgrading to Monterey, my Hovercam Solo8+ has stopped working properly in Zoom (where I teach). I can switch to it once only before it freezes, and the zoom + and - don't work. Even it's native software doesn't work properly on my iMac and Macbook air.


I tried it out on another macbook using Catalina - where it works perfectly.


I'm getting no response from Zoom or Hovercam, and the Apple helpdesk just advised uninstalling Monterey, which I really don't want to do. Any help?

Hi, thanks for this. Hovercam have not responded to two support tickets I raised with them. I have downloaded their software, and it doesn't even work in that. I have since returned their expensive piece of junk (even the Amazon seller was trying to give me the runaround!)


I've since bought an Ipevo doc cam, which is a fantastic piece of kit, much cheaper, works perfectly!

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! If we understand correctly, since upgrading to macOS Monterey your Hovercam Solo8+ device is not working with Zoom. You've narrowed this down to the software because it works with macOS Catalina and you've also worked with Apple Support to find a workaround.


Although you've tried before, we'd suggest trying once again with the Hovercam site. There might be an available software update for their device which will help it work with the current macOS version. Working with the developer will help them understand how you use their product and help them make it better for you.
