Pages closes unexpectedly when working with tables in the document

When I am using Pages to write documents, all goes fine, unless I start to insert and work with tables. At a rate of about 70% when I click to insert a table or click a table to select it, or click a cell to edit it, or even paste a table in the document I just copied, my Pages application just stops, with no messages or warning.

When I reopen, I come to the last saved version of the file I was working on.

Currently, I work around this problem by saving with CMD-S almost after every word I give in my document, so to be sure that the last saved version is the most current.

Has anyone had that problem, and know a fix?

Ensure that you have no anti-virus application installed, if currently active.

Reboot your Mac and press the shift key when launching Pages again to avoid it using its last saved application state. Still problems with the table in Pages?

Plan B. Boot your M1 Mac in Safe Boot mode, and try Pages again there, reboot normally, and then use the shift key and Pages launch sequence from above again.

Have you upgraded to macOS 12.2 yet? I would do so if you haven't.

Did you already boot your M1 Mac into Safe Boot Mode and try doing tables work in any of these applications there. Then a normal reboot.

The next time you power up your Mac, press the shift key before launching Pages/Numbers/Keynote and see if the problem disappears. The shift-key prevents the application from automatically loading its last saved execution state, and may break the evil chain. If it works, you don't need to do the shift key subsequently with future usage.

OK seems that I cried too quickly Eureka.

The problem is there again, and it is even worse now.

Just found out that it also happens in Keynote.

In Pages, the problem is: I can insert a table, but when I click in a cell to modify the contents, my Pages just closes without any message or warning. This happens with tables that I inserted using the functionality in Pages itself or copy/paste from Numbers.

In Keynote, the same problem now starts also. Copy/Paste of table from Numbers selected a cell, started to type the text I wanted in the cell, and poof. Keynote was closed without a warning or error message. Of course, all last modifications were lost.

I verified it if it could be coming from my document itself, but I have the same issue when I start with a blank document and immediately try to insert a table.

And to be honest, it is extremely frequent, I mean, if I am lucky after 15 tries I will be able to modify a cell, then I usually save with CMD-S because moving to another cell either by mouse or using TAB will make me crash again, and I can start again trying to fish for a moment it allows me to select and enter a cell again in the table.
