Burning a slideshow to a DVD

Recently purchased a 24" Imac, using Big Sur, version 11.6.2, created a slideshow from photo library, approx 350 images, 24 minutes duration, saved with extension .m4v, need step by step help sending file from my desktop to a DVD burner app for preview and then burn to my Apple magic USB SuperDrive. My questions, do I need to convert the file to .mp4 extension first, and what DVD burner app do you recommend, my old ( MiDVD ) app for burning slideshows used to work with my old Imac , now it gives me a error message, any specific help would be most appreciated. thanks Roy

my sincere thanks to Keith and Tony, allow me to explain, recently purchased a 24" iMac, 512 gig, with Apple M1, Big Sur, version 11.6.2. no problems with slideshow dvd projects in the past with the older iMac, creating slideshow from photos with i tunes fit to slideshow, no problem, export and saving file to desktop, I noticed a m4v extension, something new, not familiar with that, file is approx. 1.70 GB, 24 min. duration, set at 1080. using my old 3rd party DVD app ( miDVD ) on desktop, I tried dragging slideshow file over onto the app, to receive an error message, bringing my project to a halt. My concerns at that point were to look into a converter app changing the file extension to ( .mp4 ), my old DVD device ( asus ) may be posing a problem as well, ordered a USB super drive from Apple, arrives tomorrow, I hope that I may have clarified my dilemma, would appreciate a response, thanks again Roy

thanks Keith, appreciate your help. the USB option should work with my tv, but not for sharing with others in my family, would you be able to recommend a third party app that is compatible with Big Sur, if so my plans would be to burn dvd's on my new super drive, the only other concern I have would be converting the file extension first if it is necessary. Thanks Roy
