Can be many in a row...and often dims the brightness on computer with each notification. Catalina 10.15.5. Had this computer awhile and this is a new problem...and have not added email accounts etc.
Please help. It's becoming more frequent and is a real blocker problem to using this expensive Mac.

Have you checked System Preferences > Notifications > Mail to see what is checked there? I have nothing enabled there.
