To large screen for iPhone 8

After updating to iOS 15.2.1 the size of the screen is to large for the iPhone. Hence the keyboard displayed misses the last 3 mm at the bottom. The settings is still ”standard” and not zoom. Quite annoying since misspelling becomes easy…

Anyone else who has the same problem?

Hi again ManJor,

I am most grateful! Enabling zoom (got me only larger icons but the same feature), restarting and then disabling zoom gave result. Now I am back to normal i.e. I can see the full screen without having stuff halfway hidden.

Great help, many thanks

Hey there, Boper63!

We appreciate you reaching out on Apple Support Communities. From our understanding, your keyboard on your iPhone seems to not be fitting the screen properly. We definitely want to ensure you’re able to reach out to other easily and ensure there are no mistakes. Let’s take a look at this together!

You mentioned that this occurred after updating to iOS 15.2.1, have you updated to iOS 15.3 yet? If not, we’d recommend completing a backup of your data and updating your iPhone using: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Once complete, ensure that all apps are updated as well. If you have automatic updates enabled, you may need to manually update for this step using: How to manually update apps on your Apple device - Apple Support

Once complete, let us know if the same behavior occurs. If so, does it occur in a particular app?

Let us know if those steps help.

Kindest regards!

Hello again, Boper63!

Since this began, have you tried enabling the Zoom feature, restarting your iPhone and disabling it again? To locate that feature again, check out: If your Home screen icons are magnified on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If so, we'd recommend reaching out to Apple directly for additional assistance using: Get Support

Have a great week!

Greetings ManJor,

I have now updated to 15.3. All apps are updated.

The same issue is still there.

I will try to clarify. This is not occurring in some apps. It is for almost every single app including on the start screen. Going through a number of them I realise that most Apple own apps are affected but not all. Some of the third parties are affected but far from all.

After opening the the iPhone you have the normal screen for about 0.3 s. Then it is like the iPhone is zooming in 3 %. Hence all apps are a little larger and the fixed apps in the bottom are loosing their lower part i.e. there is almost none curvature in the bottom of the icon on the start screen. If I start the Safari-app half of the bar in the bottom is not visible. The procedure repeats for all apps. A quick normal screen and then it zooms in. It is not possible to move the bar upward by trying to move it.

So I am still confused but on a higher number of iOS :-)

I hope this clarifies the issue. I have tried to take a screenshot but not been successful so far...

Thanks for your assistance,

Best regards

Hi again,

I managed to take a screenshot but that becomes useless. The picture is not true since it shown what it should look, like not what I see. So the picture is how it looks prior to the zoom. The opposite of WYSIWYG if that expression is still used...

I will try to take a picture with an iPad to show you what it looks like.

Best regards
