Trying to mirror AppleTv to Viewsonic SmartBoard display. Movie plays fine on MacBook Air, but when I mirror it to the SmartBoard, audio plays but screen goes black. No messages.. Screen is black on both the MacBook and the SmartBoard.
Is this some sort of resolution issue?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities! From your post, it sounds like you'd like to use your MacBook Air to mirror to your Apple TV. You're able to hear audio but not see video.
Let's see if this helps: Use AirPlay to stream audio and video on Apple TV. You'd want to make sure it's set up correctly first including making sure it's on the same network.
If this doesn't help, are you able to use the Apple TV with the display without worries? We ask because you might need to refer to the manufacturer to make sure it's set up correctly.
