Replacing a key on the Magic Keyboard for a 5th Gen 12.9" iPad Pro

A family member dropped their iPad Pro and dislodged a key on their Magic Keyboard. I've got both the key cap and what I think is a retaining clip and I'd like to put them back on properly.

Are there any instructions or videos on how to do this? So far all I have been able to find are either unboxing videos or tutorials on older products that used the Magic Keyboard name.

Thanks in advance!

  1. You may want to take the keyboard and the key to the Apple Store to see if they can fix it for you
  2. You can do the same as above at an Apple Authorized Service Center
  3. Here is a link to a video on YouTube which discusses cleaning the Magic Keyboard’s key and the tutorial involves removing and replacing the key. This may be of some help to you as well ➡️ Cleaning Magic Keyboard for iPad Sticky Keys
