Apple Music Hi-Res

Thank you Apple for the lossless sound on Apple Music, but we need a platform that streams the sound in the network with higher quality than AirPlay is capable of. Will Apple allow us to play music in 24bit / 192kHz over the network from iphone and ipad? Or will AppleTV develop an option for higher quality than 16bit / 44kHz?

Apple TV 2, Sony Bravia and Sonos Beam My sonos beam on a Bravia sony (XBR-55X700D) says I'm using AIRPLAY for audio. • The Sonos beam is connected using HDMI ARC to the Sony. • Apple TV 2 is connected through another HDMI connection (not ARC). Why does Sonos app indicate audio is coming in through Airplay? The Apple TV is directly connected to the Bravia. Shouldn't the Sonos audio play through the Sony into the Apple TV? Not through Airplay?

Out of the blue, AirPlay not longer working with Sonos. Two hours ago I was happily listening to a podcast via Apple app and then, out of the blue, AirPlay is not connecting anymore. I can only play through the Sonos app. It seems to be an issue since the latest update iOS16.1.2 I use an iPhone 13 mini and an iPad. I have restarted all my devices, deleted and reinstalled the Sonos app, nothing helps. The recent update really stuffed things up. It’s definitely not my device as all iOS devices in the household (three iPhones, two iPads, two MB Air) have stopped working through AirPlay. It’s Apple. Or Sonos. Or both. Though I very much doubt it’ll work, I am now considering a hard reset of the speaker (Ikea Symfonisk Picture Frame) but before I do so, are there any other tricks I could try? I don’t want to use the Sonos app for my music. I pay Apple. And I want to be able to see the lyrics of songs. Not possible with Sono. Very disappointing. On a Sonos forum it was suggested to switch the off the ‘Private WiFi Address’ but, unfortunately, it did not do the trick for me. Suggestions on how to fix this very welcome!

Apologies, Apple TV 4K caps out at 48 kHz https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212183 but there’s a hint that they’re working on improving it. It does support Dolby Atmos https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204069.

Not possible unfortunately, you’ll need Apple TV 4K to do that.

Thanks. You're talking about Apple TV 4K (2021) ... what quality can it handle? 24bit / 96kHz?
