First, I'm running Monterey 12.0.1 on a MacBook Pro, using Mail 15.0, and have Spectrum as my ISP. Spectrum won't answer questions if you have Apple hardware, and I can't find any email settings for Mail on a MacBook Pro when I search their website. Need your help.

The problem: I have gmail addresses that can receive email but cannot send. At any hour, I'll suddenly get an email error message that the server doesn't recognize my email address. Sometimes it fixes itself.

I also have one email address where it's a GoDaddy server. On that one, I haven't been able to send messages for months, but I can receive them. They also blame it on Apple.

My comcast.net emails always work.

I need to find the Mail pane where I can click or unclick SSL, where I can put in my password and where I can set the server settings. Please don't say contact Spectrum. They have iPhone and iPad info but not for Mail running on a MacBook Pro laptop.

I used to navigate to the right pane this way: Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Server Settings. Now, there is nothing under Server Settings except Outgoing Mail Account with my email address in there.

When I go to "Edit SMTP Server List" the selected email address is NOT there at all.

Any help gratefully appreciated. One thing I don't want to do is remove and add back the email account because I have emails going back to 2007 and do not want to recreate my file structure on those.

TIA.

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files
