cant hear other person on facetime when i share my screen and her mifi hearing aids are connected

I can’t hear the other person when I share my screen in FaceTime and her mifi hearing aids are connected. I can hear her if her hearing aids aren’t connected, but the volume is significantly reduced. What do I need to do so I can hear her, and ideally at the same volume as when I’m not screen sharing?

I’m using a sixth generation iPad, she is using an iPad that was bought new less than 2 years ago, not sure of the generation. Both are at iOS 15.2.1.
