typing problem: by typing space, it deletes my previous word / words / contents.

It only happens on a few platforms (most heavily: google chrome, especially in the search bar and in the cells in google sheets - where I work most of the time).

When I type a word (as normal) then follow it with a space to continue typing the next words, right after I type space the previous word (before the space) got deleted. When I retype it, it was fine. As this always and only happens upon first-time input. (ie. I chose a new cell in google sheets then type and this error happens, but I retype in that same cell it was fine - the same is with google search bar).

It happens every single time, which results in me having to spend twice as much time (to retype everything). And it's only occurs: upon first input and with the first word / first space.

But it's annoying. I've checked every preferences / threads to find the same problem but there apparently is none. Pls send help I'm dying of small but repetitive discomfort.

mine is macbook pro 13 inch 2020. This problem is not because of the keyboard, it only happens with doc, sheet, page etc. but not on other place.

Verify your software is up to date— current macOS 12.2

Keep your Mac up to date - Apple Support

To trouble shoot further you can:

 —Try a SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache,  etc.

Login and test. Reboot  as normal and test.  Caches get rebuilt automatically.

In Safe mode third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled, it removes malware, etc hampering smooth operation, however a  reboot will put it back to normal mode.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/set-up-other-users-on-your-mac-mtusr001/mac

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS

If this is isolate to third party as in a google chrome issue— then contact Google chrome help

Google Chrome Help

If this is universal I would expect a hardware issue
