My belligerent MBP insisted it needed the macOS Monterey 12.2, so not being one to disappoint I hit that update button...
Now... I'm getting REALLY weird application screen builds.
eg: About This Mac pauses for a moment, draws an outline box... then displays the "Graphics ..." line of text floating in the middle of the empty frame. Clicking on the incomplete render causes it to finish the build.
Anyone else seeing this?

I updated yesterday and have no problems.
Try booting to Safe Mode. That boot up takes minutes and clears caches and other things that may resolve your problem.

A lot of times just boot to Safe Mode followed by normal boot resolves problems.
