Keyboard backlight

HI, Im having issue with the backlight of my macbook pro 2015, it seems that the keyboard backlight is not working. I've tried everything even resetting the SMC. but still keyboard backlight is not working, is it possible that the issue is the hardware itself. I have a Big Sur OS. Thanks in advance.

Hardware is a likely explanation.

what should I do? replace the whole keyboard or just check for hardware malfunction?
