Apple Watch series 1 is no longer working is that true

The senior advisor of apple, told me that my series 1 Apple Watch is no longer in use and this product is obsoleted and I need to trash it or if I give $220 repair fee they can fix it.

when I asked when the product is no longer in use and not compatible with any of the apple phone how they make it work

they said they will diagnose and give 90 warranty on it to if it has any issue.

is this is how apple support work. You product is no longer in use you can trash it or pay $220 to fix it.

It was very shocking to hear that from apple advisor.

anyone in the apple service can explain this why this is person charging me for the product which is no longer in use..
