A1181 not recognizing bootble USB drive

TRying to reinstall el capitan A1181 Macbook, seems to load then ask to log into AppleID to verify eligibility, then reports this unavailable at this time please try later

Try booting into Recovery Mode using Command + Option + R which should not require you to enter your AppleID and password. This is especially important if you are selling or recycling the laptop.


It is also possible you may need to set the date back to sometime in 2017 (or perhaps even earlier).


If you can still boot your laptop, then I suggest you create and use a bootable macOS 10.11 USB installer:
