No sound notifications for emails
I’ve recently purchased a new iPad and it doesn’t seem to have sound notifications for incoming email. Any suggestions?

Mail notifications and sound alerts are fundamentally broken in iPadOS15. A change in the configuration settings has disrupted the logic in which notifications and alerts are configured.
There is a potential workaround…
Settings > Notifications > Mail
Ensure Allow Notifications is enabled as shown.
Beware of the three Alerts options - as this will influence the appearance of visible alerts for all received email. If you receive a lot of email, you may not want on-screen notifications or banners when every email is received.
Your chosen sound is entirely your choice.
Tap Customise Notifications to continue the setup:
Tap the email account (from the list if you have more than one email account) that you wish to produce sound alerts…
Ensure that Alerts is set to ON as shown - as otherwise sound alerts will not be available and will be hidden. Choose the sound of your choice.
Repeat this setting for each of your email accounts.
You should now have audible sound alerts for each email account that you have explicitly enabled.
