AppleTV App not compatible with HDCP monitor. What to do?

Hi,

Just got a LG ELECTRONICS 49WL95C-W screen.

I bought it specifically because it has "High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP)"

Now I launch the AppleTV App and what does it tell me? "The selected movie won't play on your display. This movie can be be played only on displays that support HDCP".

I use the provided highest quality cable provided with the monitor, USB-C all the way.

Big Sur and Monterey act the same.

Any idea? Or did I just threw away $1,300 just because something is not clear on Apple specs requirements?

Thanks for any help

Return it, and look closer at the specs for the next replacement monitor.

Nowhere on the LG site for this monitor, including the specs, customer reviews, or the user manual is the wording HDCP used. It needs to be HDCP 2.2 or better.

One LG response to a customer complaining of the included USB-C cable being too short was that only the cable provided with the monitor is to be used, and any monitor damage incurred using any other cable would not be covered by LG.
