Weirdness with desktop disk icons.

2013 MAC PRO running Monterey v12.2

On desktop i have 6 different disk drives showing icons and volume names, 3 of them have large circle showing outside the icon lower left corner. what does this mean?

I have a macbook air running on Mojave 10.14.6 Today suddenly my external portable hard drive icons went blank...ie there is a blank white page instead of the usual orange/gold icon. The names of the drives are still present...please see screenshot below:

Icons of external hard disks changed! Hello All, I hope you can help me. I have a MBP running latest High Sierra. As you can see attached I have a sort of a shield icon next to the hard disk name instead of the normal icon showing a picture of a hard disk. It looks like an image similar the Sophos antivirus that this MBP is running. Any thoughts? Thanks PS: I have Sophos running on this machine from 1 year and it's the first time I see that, that's why it's strange.

Hard drive icon appears twice The hard drive icon and MyBook for Mac icon appear on my desktop and in Finder. Neither set has the alias icon. Help!

This looks like a .dmg file for an app with a similar name.

If you installed/downloaded an app outside of the app store, it will be in ".dmg" format which has a drive icon. If you already installed the app or no longer using these ".dmg" files, you can move it to trash.
