Apple TV 2 Activation Failure

I have an Apple TV 2 and have read a few threads and have tried most/all of the options:

Reset, Restore, Unplugged all cables, reset modem, made sure iTunes payment option was valid. The iTunes app sees the Apple TV fine & the Apple TV configurator as well...although the latter stopped short of doing a full restore, and believe it's because the Apple TV 2 is not supported in the Configurator?


At any rate, is there a remedy to get the Apple TV 2 past the "Activation failed" error?
