can I get malware or virus by visiting an infected website?

Hello, I accidentally clicked on a popup „your iPhone has viruses“. Can there something download in the background or smth? Sorry for my bad english :) Apple already wrote something about that and they are warning to click on those popups. Is that because it can infect your device? I didnt jailbrake

If you clicked on and gave out any personal information such as Apple ID …take a look here:


If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple ...


These are attempts to get you to give them information…just recognize that.
