Upgrading MacBook 2012

Hello -

I have a macbook pro from 2012, currently using MacOS Mojave with 4GB, processor 2.5 GHz intel core i5 - can I upgrade to Monterey? My Word program is not opening new documents.

It can't be upgraded past Catalina.

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and click on Catalina, Big Sur, or Monterey.

Catalina and newer won't run 32-bit software; download and use Go64 to scan for it. To check other programs, click here and look them up.
