Digital wrist Blood pressure as Apple watch 8

Hi,

I know the Apple watch series 7 can check your Oxygen level, and take your EKG. Have apple thought about using the watch as a digital wrist blood pressure? It will be beneficial to a lot of people since blood pressure is the silent killer and too many people are taking Blood pressure meds and don't own a blood pressure machine. How do we get apple to incorporate that in their Apple watch?

I understand what you're hoping for. I'm not sure it would be very accurate. I would hope people who buy watches for health reasons like Apple Watch, also have home blood pressure cuffs. I do. The reason the watch can read your oxygen level like a finger pulse blood oxygen sensor can is it's actually reading the color of the blood in the little vessels close to the top layer of your skin. The more red the blood is, the more oxygenated your blood is. The darker, the less. Blood pressure readings need to actually be able to compare the pressure of the vessels from a constricted perspective. It's not clear how a watch resting on the top of your wrist could possibly do that?

I hear you. But this forum is user to user and debating whether Apple can or can't deliver what you want won't help on a user to user only forum won't reach reach Apple's ears. Definitely tell Apple and maybe one day, they'll bring it out. If they do, I'm sure you'll happily buy a new watch with such a feature as you can bet your current watch won't offer the ability you seek.

At my old job we used digital wrist blood pressure cuff. You wrap it around their wrist and put their hand at heart level and it gives you their BP. If it seems ridiculously high that's when we use a manual BP cuff to compare. They sell digital wrist BP cuff on Amazon. We aren't expecting it to be the most reliable but it's better than nothing and it seems like we have the technology for that

I understand and the digital wrist blood pressure cuff aren't the most accurate but they are better than nothing. I know a lot of people who die from stroke due to high blood pressure. They have to walk or drive to Walmart or a pharmacy to check their blood pressure. Can you imagine if they could tighten their Apple watch and put their hand at heart level and take their BP? That would be amazing and a great step toward preventing them from having a stroke
