Find the model and serial number of your Mac - Apple Support
In About This Mac, you can Copy that serial number, then Paste it into https://checkcoverage.apple.com/
That will preclude making an error. Please don't post it here.
If that site still thinks the serial number is not valid (it's possible), then you will need to contact Apple and speak with a human being.

What you typed in parentheses above is a Model Number, not a serial number.
Choose "About This Mac" from the Apple menu to locate your serial number.
