Why am I unable to show battery percentage?

I know you can swipe down from the top right or install a widget. The widget does not show battery percentage when earbuds or other devices are connected. I do not want to swipe down, I just want to see battery percent remaining.

Leave it to apple to take away a feature when there is not good reason to do so.

I do not back my phone up on icloud.

What I said about battery life is factual.

I understand how percent works. It would just be easier if an actual number was shown. I could open the screen while driving and not have to squint and be distracted.

Look at the widget icons like a clock. Each set of 15 minutes is approximately 25% battery. So, if the green for my Watch in the image, it has around 80% battery. Actually, trying to do that and not charging to 100% overnight is not the best way to do it. Charging overnight, besides getting you a full battery when you start the day is going to make sure you get a daily iCloud backup. I charge my iPhone overnight. I start at 7:00am and use my iPhone a good bit during the day and when I go to bed at 11-11:30pm, I still have around 57% battery. So I do not need to charge during the day. The more you keep charging, the more it is adding to the charge cycles. See this for the best way to deal with your battery. https://www.apple.com/batteries/maximizing-performance/

A Battery widget will show the battery percentage of a number of things on the screen. I have the Battery widget on my iPhone 13 Pro, and as you look at the partial screenshot that I have provided below, it is showing my iPhone, Apple Watch, Beats Studio3, and my hearing aids. I don't need to see the actual percentage, because I can tell by the status of the green circle what the approximate percentage remaining is. If I really need to see the actual number, then I can also swipe down Control Center. Knowing the actual percentage is not that important, unless you can provide me a meaningful explanation as to why you need to know the actual number.
