Upgrading from Catalina to Monterey

I have a late 2012 iMac running on Catalina. Even though my computer isn't listed among those that are compatible with Monterey, considering it's already running on Catalina, can I still do the upgrade?

AND- should I go to Big Sur then Monterey? OR just skip BS and go straight to Monterey? Thanks!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.

Unfortunately, you cannot do any upgrade. macOS Catalina IS the latest version of macOS that your Mac supports.
