Crazy Battery Drain on a two week old iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Hi!
I am facing an issue with my brand new iPhone 13 Pro Max. I got it on 18th January, and the first week of usage was great. Amazing battery life. I am a person whose screen time daily is around 6-7 hours. Even after that I used to have 70 percent plus battery left on my iPhone at the end of the day.
But on Wednesday last week, I travelled to another city and charged my phone on a wireless charger in my car and used my old iPhone XS Max’s charging wire to charge from the USB port in the car. Since then I am noticing crazyyyy battery drain. The battery used to fall 20% in an hour on 26th, 27th and 28th January. I have tried forced reset, and all the tips and tricks I found online to help increase the battery usage. I reset all the settings as well. Didn’t work. Then I reset my phone completely. Erased the content. Still didn’t work. Then I took it to an authorized service provider and they installed the newest iOS 15.3, and it still hasn’t improved 😭😭.
I am so sad and worried because its a new phone! And I was excited for its extended battery life. Any help would be MUCH APPRECIATED. With all that I’ve read on the internet, the closest I’ve come to identifying the issue is may be its because of the iOS update. When I got the phone it was running on iOS 15.2 (I think, I’m not sure). Then I updated it on 21st January to iOS 15.2.1. I didn’t notice the battery drain till 26th January but a lot of people online were saying that they are facing massive amounts of battery drain after this update.
When I went to the Support Centre, they ran the diagnostics and an error showed in the iOS, and I thought yay problem solved. They updated it and I took my phone home. But the problem persisted.
Also is it possible that it’s a hardware issue but it’s not showing up in the diagnostics?
I’m so confused here. And I’m getting impatient too. I read online in different places that sometimes the iOS update can take days to update the iPhone and you should wait atleast a week before you do anything about the battery drain. And the battery has improved slightly compared to the drain I faced on 27th and 28th January. My phone ran through its entire battery in a matter of 3-4 hours and that was with Wifi and mobile data disabled. Nothing was going on in the phone. Today I charged my phone to 100% 2 hours and 45 minutes ago and the battery percentage is still at 76%. But as I said, during the first week of using this phone 70% or 71% battery was what I was left with at the end of the day. Battery health is at 100%. The battery falls even if I’m not doing anything on the phone. I went to sleep at 1 in the morning and turned off mobile data and wifi with my phone at 100%. I woke up at 8 in the morning and the phone’s battery was around 45%.
WHAT DO I DO 😭😭😭😭😭😭!
