disable Screen Time tracking per app

I use my phone a lot. -Even at night while I sleep, with a nightstand clock app.

The intention behind Screen Time tracking is to set healthy habits for myself while using my phone.

That intention is rendered useless if Screen Time can’t distinguish between active apps and passive apps (like a clock).

I’ve heard that Screen Time doesn’t allow this, but that’s unlikely the Apple designed Screen Time to be so easily rendered useless by something as common as a clock.

There must be a way to silence Screen Time data on certain apps or at least a function to view “everything except…”

Hello there crpendergras,

Thanks for posting here on the Apple Support Communities! This is a place where other Apple users can submit questions or respond to others to help lend a hand. Let's take a closer look as we do our best to provide some additional insight.

We understand you had some feedback for Apple on excluding certain apps from even showing up in the the Screen Time statistics at all. While you can exclude apps from being limited by Screen Time, it is not possible to exclude them from still being tracked.

Since this is a user forum, we'd recommended providing feedback directly with Apple at: Apple - Product Feedback

We hope this helps get you pointed in the right direction.

Take care.
